There was a worm in my "chocolate" and Daniel was unapologetic. I came here once. The interior is dark, crusty, and unappealing. Still, I was excited for the chocolates since I had looked on the website beforehand. Daniel proceeded to tell me the website hadn't been updated in years. The names of the "chocolates" did not give me any idea of what I was about to pay too much money for, and when I asked for an explanation, he gave me a rather proud and condescending flurry of words about as helpful as the names themselves (that is, NOT). I decided on a couple brownish lumps that looked and tasted like they were made years ago. The freshest thing about the "chocolate" was the WORM crawling around inside. I called Daniel and he did not take any responsibility for this disgusting experience - when he had just minutes ago been treating the "chocolates" as his Precious. I will not be back. This experience was utterly terrible and nothing can redeem it. Stick with Dove.

Extremely rude. A couple of friends and I went to check out some local businesses in Rockford after moving here for pharmacy school. From the moment we walked in, the lone man in the store began berating us. Everything from implying we were not smart enough to understand the names and flavors of the chocolates and for that reason we must have attended “public schools” growing up, to stating the only thing my friend could major in was hair and boys. I don’t particularly like milk chocolate but love dark chocolate and had heard it was good here. I didn’t end up buying anything due to the demeanor of the “owner”. I will always make it a point to direct friends anywhere else from . No need to subject anyone to this kind of treatment.

Lots of interesting flavors that complement the chocolate very well. Daniel was very friendly and knowledgeable. Im glad we made the stop.

This was our second visit, and it was just as memorable as the first. Every visit truly feels like an experience. Daniel is incredibly talented and knowledgeable, and he shares the story behind each piece of chocolate he creates. His passion is evident in every detail—he is truly a chocolate artist. I personally enjoyed the homesick story and chocolate itself.

This place is special. You can forgive the somewhat cluttered esthetic inside because this guy is clearly some type of passionate genius. He derives flavor inspirations from classic literature and infuses literally garden grown ingredients into his chocolate creations. He refuses to use cheap artificial sweeteners. The result is an incredible experience of balanced yet challenging flavors that make you feel something. He also recreates centuries old recipes like one from a French cardinal or an old Colombian slave recipe. This is more than good chocolate, it’s an artistic experience. But it’s also really damn good chocolate too lol
